Day 1 Fly to Hannover and meet your guide for a transfer to the hotel.
Day 2 Morning walking tour of Quedlinburg including admission to the Collegiate Church of St Servatius as well as its treasury and crypt followed by time for independent sightseeing. Quedlinburg's Old Town is listed by UNESCO as a world heritage site. It is an outstanding example of a medieval city preserved through the centuries, making this the perfect place to study the development of medieval building techniques and styles.
Day 3 Today, travel to Halberstadt, located at the northern foothills of the Harz, for a guided tour including the cathedral and treasury. The impressive towers of the 1200 year old bishop's seat dominate the town. Take time to discover Halberstadt, and you will experience this place with all your senses.
Day 4 Excursion to Naumberg, one of the most beautiful towns in central Germany for a guided walking tour including admission to Naumburg Cathedral, treasury and garden. Today impressive old burgher houses, the town fortifications, the magnificent market square and the world-famous cathedral all bear witness to its rich and colourful history. The town is nestled in a charming cultural landscape of terraced vineyards, castles and ruins still towering over the river valleys, recalling a time when the first German kings and emperors resided here.
Day 5 Transfer to Hannover for the return flight to the UK with an en route stop in the former Free Imperial Town of Goslar. A sightseeing tour of the town includes admission and a guided tour of the Kaiserpfalz. For centuries Goslar was the favoured seat of government in northern Germany and at the same time a centre of Christianity. The spires of the 47 churches, chapels and monasteries delineated the town's unique silhouette. It was referred to as the 'Rome of the North'.
