Milan, Sparkling Wine and Venice
World famous centre for taste, fashion and design, Milan is a thriving metropolis with a history dating back to Imperial Rome. Its Gothic cathedral is surrounded by art collections, unparalleled shopping and foodie delights. Venice is the historic city of stone, built upon posts driven into the mud banks of its famous lagoon. Between the two is a delightful landscape of vineyards and lakes.

Day 3 Travel to Franciacorta, an important wine region between Lake Iseo and Brescia. Stop in the small town of Rodengo Saiano, to visit Villa Fenaroli, dating back to the 1700s and the Abbey of Saint Nicola. Continue to Provaglio d'Iseo for a wine tasting and a traditional lunch in one of the 'aziende agricole' farms. Continue to the 12th century Monastery of San Pietro in Lamosa.
Day 4 Cruise to Monte Isola, a small island in the middle of Lake Iseo, a mountain rising from the lake to height of 600 metres, crowned by the Sanctuary of Madonna della Ceriola. Continue to Borgonato to visit one of the best 'aziende agricole' for a wine tasting. This company produces the 'Franciacorta' spumante (sweet champagne), one of the most appreciated in Italy.
Day 5 Depart Lake Iseo for Venice and a guided walking tour on arrival. Initially this will cover St Mark's Square, the basilica and the Doge's Palace. St. Mark's Square was the political and religious centre of the Republic of Venice and is rich in historic and artistic value.
Day 6 This morning visit the Guggenheim Collection, in Venice, for a guided tour. Here can be seen masterpieces by Kandinsky, Pollock, Ernst, Chagall, Dalì and many others. In the afternoon there's time at leisure for shopping, perhaps for Murano glass.
