Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, is located on the Southern shores of the Baltic Sea. It is one of the best preserved medieval towns in Europe and its web of winding cobblestone streets are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Old Town centre dates from the 11th to 15th centuries, during which it was under Danish rule, while its membership of the Hanseatic League had a strong influence on the style of architecture during this time.
