Day 1 Fly to Podgorica and transfer to the hotel in the town of Kolasin.
Day 2 After a morning guided tour to Mount Bjelasica, enjoy a free afternoon in Kolasin.
Day 3 Drive towards the UNESCO World Heritage Durmitor National Park and the Tara River Canyon, the second largest in the world. Transfer to hotel in Bar.
Day 4 After breakfast, head south and visit the old town of Bar with its charming market and a 2000 year old olive tree reputed to be the oldest in the Mediterranean. Continue to see the old market in Ulcinj and the River Bojana on the border with Albania.
Day 5 Drive to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage town of Kotor, visiting the Maritime Museum and the cathedral of St Tripun. View the Roman mosaics at Risan. From Perast, cruise by boat to the island of Gospa od Skrpjela to visit the Baroque Church of Our Lady.
Day 6 Follow in the footsteps of George Bernard Shaw and Alfred Lord Tennyson to Cetinje. Enjoy a traditional meal in Montenegro's oldest inn and visit the former King's palace and the Cetinje Monastary, before returning to Bar along the coast road.
Day 7 Enjoy a guided walking tour through Podgorica old town and then the medieval village of Rijeka Crnojevica where, in 1492, the first book in Eastern Europe was printed. Board a boat on the River Crnojevica and cruise into Skadar Lake, the largest in all the Balkans and home to a great bird reserve. This evening, dine at a restaurant on the shores of Skadar Lake.
Day 8 Transfer to the airport for the flight back to the UK.
