Day 1 Fly from the UK to Madrid and transfer to the hotel for a three night stay.
Day 2 Morning panoramic tour of the city to include the Royal Palace, Plaza de España, Teatro Real and Parque del Cuartel de la Montaña for panoramic views of the city. Transfer to the hotel and dinner.
Day 3 A full day excursion to the medieval town of Toledo. This was the first city under Moorish rule to fall to Christian forces, marking the beginnings of the Crusades. Return to the hotel in Madrid and dinner.
Day 4 Travel to Salamanca for a two night stay, stopping en route at historical Escorial to visit the Monastery of San Lorenzo and the medieval walled town of Ávila, with its impressive cathedral.
Day 5 After breakfast, a morning guided tour of Salamanca and see the old and new Cathedrals and the pre-renaissance Casa de las Conchas (House of Shells). Remainder of the day free to explore at leisure.
Day 6 Transfer to the airport for the return flight to the UK.
