Wallonia... From Durbuy to Waterloo

Staying on the northern edge of the Ardennes Forest, this tour is based near the town of Durbuy. Pretty and historic, it is often dubbed the smallest city in the world and home to a topiary park with 250 boxwood sculptures featuring everything from human figures to crocodiles. Travel on the Aisne Tramway and learn about the great battle of Waterloo where Napolean was defeated by Wellington and Britain’s Prussian Allies.

Day 1 Channel crossing to Calais and then on to the hotel near Durbuy.

Day 2 Morning visit to Durbuy Topiary Park followed by time to wander the charming cobbled streets full of restaurants and independent shops.

Day 3 Take a journey on the heritage Aisne Tramway following the Aisne River through the Ardennes countryside.

Day 4 Visit Waterloo where a range of sites and museums show how Napolean and his 70,000 strong army were finally defeated by Wellington.

Day 5 Depart Durbuy for Calais and the return Channel crossing.
