Denmark… Fairytales and Vikings

Denmark is spread across a number of islands and offers uncluttered countryside, a long coastline and Scandinavian charm. This two centre tour includes stays in Odense, birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, and in Copenhagen, the Danish capital. Contrast the charming, quaint streets in historic Odense with magnificent Royal Copenhagen.

Odense • Viking Ship Museum • Copenhagen • Oresund Bridge to Sweden • Kronborg Castle

Day 1 Short Channel crossing. Overnight in Holland.

Day 2 Travel on through Holland and into Germany to the Hamburg area for an overnight stay.

Day 3 Spend time discovering Hamburg before proceeding north, across the Danish border to Odense for a 2 night stay.

Day 4 Start with an included guided walk exploring the historic centre of Odense, following in the steps of Hans Christian Andersen. The afternoon is at leisure with the opportunity to visit the great story teller's birthplace museum.

Day 5 Leave Odense and travel east to Copenhagen. We suggest a stop en-route in Roskilde, one of Denmark's oldest cities, to visit the Viking Ship Museum. On then to Copenhagen for a 3 night stay.

Day 6 A full day in Copenhagen with time to explore the city. We suggest a guide for a sightseeing tour followed by an included 1 hour sightseeing cruise though the city's canals and harbour.

Day 7 A fascinating full day excursion to include the magnificent Oresund Bridge to Sweden, the Open Air Museum in Lund and Hamlet's Kronborg Castle.

Day 8 Depart Copenhagen and travel Rødby for the short ferry crossing to Puttgarden. On then around Hamburg and to the Bremen area dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9 Into Holland and on to the North Sea Coast for a relaxing overnight crossing to the UK.

Day 10 Arrive back in the UK and travel home.
