Art in the Galleries of Paris

There really is nowhere quite like Paris. The ‘City of Light’ offers a perfect opportunity to experience the culture, art, architecture and style of the city. Paris is one of the most culturally rich cities in the world, offering galleries overflowing with artistic masterpieces and streets filled with some of Europe’s most iconic buildings.

Louvre • Musée d’Orsay • Rodin Museum • Le Petit Palais

Day 1 Travel by Eurostar to Gare du Nord in Paris where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 Orientation tour of Paris, taking in the major points of interest. Afternoon at Le Petit Palais, an architectural gem, built for the 1900 Universal Exhibition, and home to the Paris Fine Art Museum.

Day 3 Morning visit to the Musée du Louvre, highlights include the Italian Renaissance Gallery. This Italian Renaissance collection is one of the finest in the world, including major works by Fra Angelico, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and Caravaggio. In the afternoon continue exploring the collections at leisure. Alternatively, either walk or take a Batobus to the Ile de la Cité and Notre Dame.

Day 4 Visit the Musée d'Orsay, an international art museum of great diversity. Inaugurated in 1900 for the World Fair, it presents the evolution of western art from 1848 to 1914. Highlights include the Impressionists, with famous works by Manet, Cézanne, Monet, Degas, Gauguin and many others. Afternoon at leisure either to continue examining the museum's collections or to explore Paris's famous Left Bank and student quarter around the Sorbonne and Pantheon.

Day 5 Visit the Rodin Museum in the Hôtel Biron and its impressive gardens. The museum is home to works including The Thinker, The Kiss and many other famous pieces, as well as Auguste Rodin's own art collection which includes work by Van Gogh and Renoir. Afternoon at leisure to shop or explore Montmartre.

Day 6 Transfer to the Gare du Nord for the Eurostar journey back to London.
