A veritable open air museum, the historical area of the Battle of Normandy brings together poignant memories connected with D-Day 1944, when the outcome of the Second World War depended upon the brave efforts of the Allied offensive.

Day 1 Channel crossing and on to Normandy, where we offer a choice of hotels.

Day 2 Start with a visit to the Caen Memorial Museum. In the afternoon proceed north to the D-Day Landing Beaches and discover the artificial harbour in Arromanches. Then continue east along the beaches to see the Pegasus Bridge and with a possible visit to the Pegasus Memorial Museum. Final stop is the Ranville Commonwealth Cemetery before returning to the hotel in time for dinner.

Day 3 Visit the Bayeux War Cemetery and see the Bayeux Memorial. Then proceed toward Utah Beach and the Airborne Museum in the heart of the village of Sainte-Mere-Eglise. Finally visit the Omaha Sector and the American Military Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer before returning to the hotel via Bayeaux or Caen.

Day 4 A scenic day with a visit to the wonderful old port of Honfleur. This vibrant town is a magnet for visitors and has no end of shops, cafés and restaurants.

Day 5 Depart and journey home with a variety of possible stops en-route.
