Day 1 Short Channel crossing. Then proceed along the coast to overnight in Lisieux.
Day 2 Leave Normandy and travel into Brittany stopping at Le Mont-St-Michel. Cross the causeway for time on this charming island where the energetic may well wish to ascend to the famous steepled abbey. On then past Rennes to arrive in Concarneau for a 4 night stay.
Day 3 A day at leisure in Concarneau. There is a wonderful beach opposite the hotel and the historic walled town can be reached on foot or via the tourist train. The town is packed with quaint streets, shops and pavement cafés.
Day 4 An excursion to Quimper, which lies on the River Odet. Not to be missed are the many timber framed buildings, the 13th century catherdral and Church of Locmaria. In the afternoon we include a rustic cider farm tour and tasting at nearby Ergué-Gabéric.
Day 5 A relaxing day touring the nearby coastal towns of the Finistère stopping in Bénodet, on the River Odet, Fouesnant, a charming and authentic Breton village and Pont Aven, an artists town where Paul Gauguin painted many famous canvases.
Day 6 Depart Concarneau and travel back into Normandy stopping for dinner and an overnight in Lisieux.
Day 7 North to Calais. Channel crossing and home.
Cruise Ferry to France
Most of our French tours can be operated using Brittany Ferries crossings to Roscoff, St Malo, Cherbourg or Caen, often saving the need for overnight stay hotels en-route. Please ask for details.
