Lake Balaton

Lake Balaton is a freshwater lake in the Transdanubian region of western Hungary. It is the largest lake in Central Europe, and one of the region's foremost tourist destinations. Set amongst volcanic hills are historic towns, a wine-growing region and wetlands.

Day 1 Fly to Budapest and transfer to the Hotel.

Day 2 Full day excursion around the Lake Balaton, the Hungarian Sea. Visit Balatonfüred, the regional capital, a charming city of 19th century villas and a lakeside promenade. Continue to Tihany, one of the oldest villages in Hungary; Festetics Palace in Keszthely and the city of Heviz.

Day 3 Full day excursion to Budapest, including the Parliament Building, the National Opera, Heroes' Square and the City Park, Buda Castle, Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church.

Day 4 Half day guided tour beginning in Veszprém, before visiting the Herend Porcelain Factory. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 5 Day at leisure to use the hotel’s facilities or explore Lake Balaton independently.

Day 6 Transfer to Budapest for the flight back to the UK.
