Iceland

Iceland attracts visitors throughout the year for the midnight sun or the Northern Lights and its unique landscapes are home to glaciers and geysers, volcanoes and waterfalls. From chic Reykjavik some of the country's most remarkable highlights are accessible in daytrips. The Reykjanes Peninsula, with its active volcanos, large lava fields hot springs and geysers is home to a remarkable, geothermal power station and the world famous Blue Lagoon hot pools. Heading out of Reykjavik in the other direction leads to the Golden Circle, a 190 mile circular route which encompasses many of Iceland's most famous landmarks including the Strokkur Geyser, Gulfoss Waterfalls and Thingvellir, site of the world's first parliament in 930AD.

Day 1 Fly from the UK to Reykjavik airport from where you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 This morning enjoy a guided tour of vibrant Reykjavik, a city that lies midway between Europe and America. This tour will include the National Museum of Iceland.

Day 3 Spend a full day on the Golden Circle tour, visiting Strokkur Geyser, Gulfoss Waterfalls and Thingvellir, site of the world's first parliament in 930AD.

Day 4 Full day at leisure to perhaps enjoy optional tours such as whale watching or four wheel drive jeep tours.

Day 5 Travel to the Reykjanes Peninsula to witness the lava fields, hot springs and geysers as well as the unique geothermal power station and the world famous Blue Lagoon hot pools.

Day 6 Full day tour to Borgarfjordur where you will visit the Settlement Centre, giving an insight into the settlement of Iceland and the most colourful personalities of the Viking Age of Settlement.

Day 7 Transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK.
