Day 1 Short channel crossing and then on to Amsterdam with a possible stop in Bruges or Gent en route.
Day 2 Visit to the The Rijksmuseum whose collections lead through Dutch art and history from the middle ages to the twentieth century. After lunch there's a guided tour of Amsterdam including the Jewish quarter, Dam Square and the Royal Palace and an optional visit to Anne Frank's House.
Day 3 Visit Haarlem and The Hague starting with the Frans Hals Museum. Then it's on to Scheveningen to visit the Panorama Mesdag, by Hendrik Willem Mesdag housed in a purpose-built museum. Next is an afternoon visit to the Mauritshuis Museum, The Hague, containing approximately 800 paintings from the Dutch Golden Age with works by Vermeer and Rembrandt.
Day 4 Visit the Van Gogh Museum, dedicated to his works and those of his contemporaries, the museum houses the largest collection of paintings by Vincent van Gogh in the world. After lunch there's a canal cruise, one of the most memorable ways of seeing the city, followed by an option to visit the Rembrandt House Museum where Rembrandt worked and lived for 20 years.
Day 5 Return to Calais for a Channel crossing to Dover.
