Dutch Royal Palaces and Pottery

Though the Dutch Royal Family is relatively young, having been established just over 200 years ago with the birth of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, its historic roots trace back over 500 years to the Duchies of Nassau and Orange. This tour is ideally based in Breukelen, a central location from which to explore the many varied sited and cities connected to the Royal Family.

Palace of Het Loo and Gardens • Royal Delft • The Hague • Apeldoorn

Day 1 Short Channel crossing. Arrive in Breukelen for a 3 night stay.

Day 2 A full day excursion to the 17th century Palace of Het Loo, the largest estate in Holland. Reopened after an extensive refurbishment, a guided tour of the Palace is included. Free time after to explore the magnificent gardens as well as Stables Square with its Coach House exhibiting Royal carriages. Spend the afternoon in the traditional town of Apeldoorn and discover the many squares, shops and cafés the city has to offer.

Continue for an afternoon visit to The Hague, home to the Dutch Parliament and the Royal Family. This elegant city boasts world class galleries and museums, grand architecture and a vibrant café culture.
