Day 1 Fly to Málaga and transfer to the hotel in Antequera.
Day 2 A chance to learn about our base, Antequera, from pre-history to the Romans and medieval times. This Spanish provincial town has so far avoided mass tourism. Later there is time to explore independently, visit the museum or a tapas bar or two.
Day 3 Full day excursion to Córdoba for a guided tour through the crooked streets of Moorish origin including the 'Street of Flowers' and the 1,000 year old mosque, which is so large it has the cathedral built inside it.
Day 4 Visit Granada for a morning guided tour of the historic centre, where the Renaissance cathedral, Royal Chapel and the Alcaiceria should not be missed. In the afternoon visit the Alhambra Palace and the Summer Palace, the Generalife and experience the environment of Moorish royalty 700 years ago.
Day 5 Travel to Malaga, the birthplace of Picasso, for a morning guided tour and an afternoon of independent sightseeing. Highlights include the Gibralfaro, cathedral and the Picasso Museum.
Day 6 A full day excursion in Seville, birthplace and inspiration of writers, painters and artists, and one of the most visited cities in Spain. See the Cathedral, Alcázar and Giralda. After a guided walking tour take time to relax and enjoy the wide squares and pavement cafés.
Day 7 Visit the picturesque mountainous area of La Axarcia for a visit to the Núñez de Prado olive oil press before the highlight of our day, an included special 'Andalusian housewives meal' in the hills behind Nerja.
Day 8 Transfer to Málaga airport for the return flight to the UK.
