Day 1 Fly from the UK to New York. Transfer to the hotel.
Day 2 Morning panoramic orientation tour by boat, bus and on foot including iconic views of the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Then on to Wall Street and The New York Stock Exchange, the 9/11 Memorial, Chinatown, Madison Square Park, the Flatiron Building, Central Park, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center and St. Paul's Chapel. After a break the tour continues with a New York by night tour including Times Square, Engine 54 – the firehouse that lost more men than any other on 9/11 – the Chrysler, Flatiron and Empire State Buildings, the Manhattan Bridge for a spectacular photo opportunity to see the Manhattan skyline from Brooklyn. Then on to Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn Heights and the marvellous Romanesque Revival architecture of the Brooklyn Post Office and courthouse before heading back into Manhattan and the once gritty East Village.
Day 3 Independent sightseeing, shopping and perhaps a Broadway show.
Day 4 This morning join the Rockefeller Center Tour, where a local historian will guide you throughout the center, from its Art Deco buildings to Radio City Music Hall to eye-catching sculptures and murals. Along the way, you'll learn about the center's intriguing past – and its founders, the Rockefeller family – historical facts, figures and anecdotes can be listened to on wireless headsets connected to your guide. Then transfer to the airport for the return overnight flight to the UK.
