Isle of Wight

Take the time to rediscover the Isle of Wight on this lovely tour. With a shoreline dotted with sandy beaches, stunning cliffs and unique visitor attractions, it's easy to see why it has been a popular destination since Victorian times.

Alum Bay • The Needles • Shanklin Old Village • Ventnor Botanic Gardens • Osborne House

Day 1 Journey to Portsmouth or Lymington for the short crossing to the Isle of Wight.

Day 2 First stop today is Godshill Village with its charming thatched cottages, model village, gift shops and tea rooms. Then onto Brightstone, where an interesting stop can be made at Isle of Wight Pearl. Finally, no trip to the Isle of Wight would be complete without a visit to Alum Bay, famous for its multi coloured sand cliffs and breath taking views of the Needles and lighthouse.

Day 3 This morning explore Shanklin. The Old Village is full of picturesque cottages clustered around the thatched Crab Inn, many of which have become craft and gift shops. Take a stroll through the tranquil Shanklin Chime (cost not included) or head to the beach and Esplanade. After lunch travel to Ventnor Botanical Gardens. Basking in the microclimate of The Undercliff, these are one of the great gardens of Britain.

Day 4 Morning tour to Osborne House, Queen Victoria's island retreat. Highlights include the lavishly furnished State Rooms and glorious grounds and gardens. Later travel to the award winning Isle of Wight Steam Railway for a special journey that will take you back in time.

Day 5 Back to the mainland for your homeward journey.
