Day 1 Travel to your hotel in Cheshire.
Day 2 A short hop to Wigan Pier this morning, to enjoy a friendly and informative 2 hour barge cruise. Passengers will enjoy the alternative view of the geography, wildlife and heritage of the Industrial Revolution and environs of Wigan, Leigh and the Douglas Valley. On then to the highlight of the tour for some, the brand new and spectacular 154 acre RHS Garden Bridgewater. One of the largest gardening projects in Europe, this is the Royal Horticultural Societies fifth garden and has transformed the historic grounds of Worsley New Hall in Salford.
Day 3 This morning is in charming Chester, with time at leisure to explore the pretty medieval streets and city walls. This afternoon is admission to and a coach tour of Port Sunlight Village, built at the end of the 19th century and originally designed as a home for workers at the Lever Factory. Over 30 different architects were involved in the building of the village and the result is an intoxicating mix of architectural styles enhanced by the parkland setting.
Day 4 Liverpool is today’s destination for a tour of the Anglican Cathedral. This incredible feat of architectural achievement is the largest cathedral in the UK and it is thought that St Paul's Cathedral could actually fit inside. The remainder of the day is at leisure, but we would be happy to make arrangements for additional excursions such as a cruise on the Mersey or admission to the Beatles Story (additional costs apply), if required.
Day 5 Homeward journey.
