Day 1 Travel to the hotel in Cheltenham with a recommended stop in Oxford or Stratford-upon-Avon en route.
Day 2 Head to Toddington, the northern terminus of the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Soak up the atmosphere in the Flag and Whistle Tea Room before boarding the train back to Cheltenham where passengers will alight at the Racecourse. This afternoon is free to explore the boutique shops, pretty gardens and wide leafy promenade of Cheltenham town centre.
Day 3 Visit beautiful Cotswold villages including Chipping Sodbury, then onto Castle Coombe often named as the prettiest village in England. After lunch proceed to the stunning Westonbirt Arboretum, home to one of the most spectacular tree collections in the world, which now features a treetop walkway, accessible to all.
Day 4 Head west from Cheltenham today to the Cathedral City of Hereford. Continue to the market town of Ross on Wye before exploring the Forest of Dean. Time allowing, visit the famous Gloucester Docks whose restored warehouses make this a remarkably complete example of a Victorian port, before returning to the hotel.
Day 5 Homeward journey.
