Tours are based on Thursday departures.

Stratford-upon-Avon • Shakespeare's Birthplace • Cheltenham • Blenheim • Oxford

Day 1 Travel to Warwickshire with a recommended stop in Bath or The Potteries en route.

Day 2 Follow in the footsteps of the Bard by visiting Stratford-upon-Avon. We have included a visit to Shakespeare's Birthplace in the centre of town which provides an insight into what shaped the great man. Other family homes, such as Anne Hathaway's Cottage can be included at an additional cost. There is time at leisure to explore the town before taking a leisurely cruise down the River Avon.

Day 3 Today’s excursion explores the pretty Cotswold villages that make this area so special. Visit Stow-on-the-Wold with its medieval buildings, art galleries and eateries. The charming towns in this area are built with beautiful honey-coloured Cotswold stone and set amid gentle rolling countryside. Continue to the spa town of Cheltenham, renowned for its designer boutiques, pretty gardens and the historic promenade lined with Regency townhouses.

Day 4 Begin the day with a visit to Blenheim Palace, a superb example of a Baroque residence situated in over 2000 acres of beautiful parkland landscaped by Capability Brown. This afternoon head to the 'dreaming spires' of Oxford where the afternoon is free to explore the flat and compact centre of this cathedral city. Oxford is home to over 1500 listed buildings and is regularly used as a location for film crews from all over the world.

Day 5 Homeward journey.
