Day 1 Afternoon ferry crossing and overnight near Dublin
Day 2 Travel across the Irish lakelands to County Mayo via the towns of Mullingar and Longford. If time permits, visit the Marian Shrine in Knock, a destination for thousands of pilgrims every year. Proceed to Castlebar for a 3 night stay at the Harlequin Hotel.
Day 3 Journey west for an included tour of Westport House. Built in 1730, the house boasts original architecture within a superb parkland setting including a lake, terraces, waterfalls and magnificent views of Ireland's holy mountain, Croagh Patrick. The rest of the day is free to explore the pretty town of Westport, situated on the shores of Clew Bay.
Day 4 Travel to the Currane Peninsula and across Achill Sound for a scenic tour of Achill Island, home to some beautiful vistas and several blue flag beaches. Look out for the deserted village at Slievemore and the remains of a 16th century tower house at Kildavnet, once used by the legendary Pirate Queen Grace O'Malley (Granuaile).Alternatively travel north to the Foxford Woollen Mill and a visit to the town of Ballina.
Day 5 Depart Castlebar and head to Dublin. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure in the Capital city before checking in to the overnight hotel.
Day 6 Morning ferry crossing and homeward journey.
