Day 1 Fly to Dublin, where you will be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel for check in before a guided orientation tour of the city by coach.
Day 2 Travel to the magnificent 18th century Old Library building of Trinity College and visit the Book of Kells exhibition a 9th century gospel manuscript famous throughout the world. Continue on a guided walking tour to Georgian Merrion Square before time for independent sightseeing.
Day3 Excursion to the north of the city to the magnificent property and Farm at Newbridge House for a guided tour of the 18th Century manor house boasting a fine Georgian interior and set in 350 acres of parkland. Continue to Malahide Castle, one of the oldest castles in Ireland and home to the Talbot family for over 800 years.
Day 4 Travel first to Powerscourt Estate where, stretching out over 45 acres at the foot of the Wicklow Mountains, is one of the finest gardens in Europe. Continue to Glendalough, home of one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland. This early Christian settlement was founded by St Kevin in the 6th century and from this developed the 'Monastic City' with remains of a superb round tower, stone churches and decorated crosses.
Day 5 Morning at Dublin Castle with a guided tour of the State Apartments and Medieval Undercroft. Since it was founded in 1204 Dublin Castle has been at the heart of the history and evolution of the city. Return to the airport for an afternoon flight to the UK.
