Day 1 Travel to your hotel in Irvine.
Day 2 A scenic drive to the charming seaside resort of Largs for the short crossing to Great Cumbrae, a small and picturesque island only 10 miles round. Stop in Millport before the return crossing to Largs. This afternoon, we recommend time at leisure in Troon with its sandy beaches, beautiful views and bustling harbour.
Day 3 Head south this morning to Culzean Castle and Country Park, perched high above the Ayrshire cliffs. A costumed guide will share the secrets of the castle, once home to the chieftain of Clan Kennedy, an ancient Scottish family descended from Robert the Bruce. Return to Irvine following admission to the birthplace of a genius and Scotland’s favourite son, the Burns Birthplace Museum and Burns Cottage.
Day 4 Full day excursion to the Isle of Arran, beginning with an included visit to Brodick Castle. Dramatically set against the backdrop of Goatfell, the grand red sandstone, baronial-style castle has stunning views over Brodick Bay and boasts impressive gardens. Spend time in Brodick before re-boarding the ferry back to the mainland.
Day 5 Homeward journey.
