Edinburgh and the Borders

The Borders region stretches from the rolling hills in the west to the secluded coves and fishing villages of the dramatic Berwickshire Coastline in the east. The area's turbulent history created its present day attributes of strong traditions and interesting heritage sites including the famous abbeys at Melrose, Jedburgh and Dryburgh.

Day2 This morning is a guided tour of Abbotsford, the extraordinary home of the iconic novelist and poet, Sir Walter Scott. Located on the banks of the romantic River Tweed, admire the beautifully preserved architecture and see the rooms as Scott lived in them in the 1800s, before enjoying time in the stunning formal Regency gardens.
