Day 1 Travel to North Wales with a recommended stop in the medieval city of Chester.
Day 2 Travel to Porthmadog for a single rail journey to the slate quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The historic train ascends over 700 feet, passing through tranquil meadows, past waterfalls and around horseshoe bends. On then to the delightful Italian village of Portmeirion before returning to Llanberis for free time and where, for an additional cost and time allowing, further spectacular views of the National Park can be savoured aboard the narrow gauge Llanberis Lake Railway, or the Snowdon Mountain Railway. Due to timetables, there may be days where it is necessary to reverse excursions.
Day 3 A full day excursion to the popular seaside town of Llandudno with its two sandy beaches and original Victorian features. A ride on the Great Orme tramway is also included. Excellent views of the Conwy Estuary, Anglesey and Snowdonia can be enjoyed from this, Britain's only cable-hauled public road tramway.
Day 4 A leisurely morning before a short drive to Beddgelert station for the scenic journey along the foothills of Snowdon to Caernarfon. Allow plenty of free time here before returning to the hotel.
Day 5 Homeward journey.
